SWV, ILR problems if overseas more than 90 days?

Bangladesh

Hi,

This has been asked and answered many times, and all the documents I have found also mention the 180 days/12 month rolling rule, so apologies for repeating this first of all.

However, my family friend working in the home office have advised that I should return before 90 days otherwise there might be problems with getting ILR regardless of the 180 days rule. In terms of having to explain it or something. This friend works in the home office hence I am repeating this question.

I did double check whether they meant the 90 day rule related to citizenship eligibility, but they mentioned ILR specifically again.

Are they full of sh** or Do I have to cut my trip short? I was planning to stay for 5 months overseas due to personal reasons.

Any help would be appreciated. TIA!
