Does anyone else feel like making friends as an adult is weirdly difficult?

Discussion

I'm 21 and recently realized that most of my friendships happened by accident.

School? Friends happened because we sat in the same classroom.

College? Friends happened because we saw each other every day.

But now it feels like everyone already has their own group and nobody tells you how you're supposed to make new friends.

The weird thing is that I talk to people all the time. I can have conversations, work on projects, joke around, and everything seems normal.

Yet at the end of the day, I still feel like I don't actually know many people.

So I'm curious:

How did you meet your closest friend?

Have you made any genuine friends online?

What hobbies or communities helped you meet people?

Maybe some of us in the comments are looking for the same thing.

Tell me something random about yourself. I'll start:

I'm a BCA student, interested in tech and building projects, and I somehow spend more time fixing bugs than actually writing code.

Your turn.
