Ran WAY too much, too soon. Where to go from here?
The most I’ve ever ran was two miles over 7 years ago. I’m getting back into fitness and I started with 2-3 minute run intervals for the first week. The second week, I decided to try running as long as I can. The first day I hit 3 miles/10 minute pace. I was actually training for my first 3K, so I couldn’t believe it. I was so happy and surprised, I challenged myself the second day and hit 5.4m/11:48pace (First 5K and 5mile!!!!), third day 5.52m/10pace, fourth day 5.69m/9:49 pace. Then the fifth day came, and the pain in my inner bottom ankle area was unbearable. Also had extreme pain in my heel when I walked. It’s been almost two weeks and the pain is just now starting to subside. I haven’t been able to run since and I’ve been dying to run soooo bad! I was running in Novablast 5 and I think the ankle support might not be best for me or my form may be terrible. Any advice/tips on easing back into it or insight on my foot pain? Thank you!
