[UPD] BS Stat + Student-Athlete

Hi! My friend is an incoming freshie to BS Statistics and wants to pursue being a student-athlete in UP as they were one in their old school. However, they’re not really sure if it’s worth to do so given how rigorous the course may be. They have want to know if it is possible to do so, but so far they haven’t found any evidence of it being done in the past, and have seen people talk about the course’s immense workload and that you are practically studying all the time.

Do you guys think its realistically possible (asking especially Stat students) to be one given how hard the course is or do they have to sacrifice that dream of becoming a student-athlete? Any honest opinions or comments about the idea, the course itself, & student-athlete life in general in UP are much much appreciated. Thanks!!
