7 week old sleep
I’m really struggling and wondering if anyone has been through something similar.
My baby is 7 weeks old and will only sleep when being held in our arms. She won’t sleep in her bassinet, pram, or car seat. She also won’t co-sleep because she doesn’t like being put down at all. She won’t even sleep on our chest – she only seems happy being cradled in our arms.
Once she’s asleep, she can sleep for hours, but only if we continue holding her. The moment we try to put her down, she wakes up.
We feel completely stuck. We can’t really go anywhere because she won’t sleep in the pram or car seat, and we spend most of our days and evenings trapped on the sofa taking turns holding her.
It’s starting to have a big impact on both mine and my partner’s mental health. We’re exhausted and feeling quite isolated.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did your baby grow out of it, or is there anything that helped? We’d really appreciate any advice or reassurance right now.
