38-0 has been brilliant for getting everyone into football drafting, but it is luck based on a spin, and you take the player you land on. I wanted the version where knowing football is the actual skill, so I built one.

In Gaffer every rating is hidden: you get a name, a club and a season, nothing else. And here's the twist 38-0 doesn't have - every card costs its fame, and your budget is set below an all-star XI. So you can't just stack famous names. You have to spot the player who was better than his reputation that exact season - the cheap cult hero who was genuinely world-class - and bank the difference.

It sims a season and scores your Scout's Eye 0-99 and Value Eye. There's a Beat-the-Pundit mode (a CPU that drafts on fame alone, so you can prove knowledge beats reputation), a shared daily board and a spoiler-free grid.
