Car show annoyance

I go to a fair amount of car meets with my restored car. It’s bad enough that more and more people are bringing these little kids to the meets/shows. Now the audacity asking if they can put their disgusting little germ factory in the driver seat of my car and take pictures of them and when I say no, I’m the asshole and they talk shit about me because I won’t just let their child touch my possessions. I spent a lot bringing this thing around and I don’t want your crotch gobbler anywhere near it, and you know for a fact, if the little shit didn’t break something. The parents would be like totally dismissive about taking any kind of responsibility for it because it’s just a kid.

I’m just really annoyed about this still because this past weekend during a car meet, I let an intellectually disabled man sit in the driver seat to have a few pictures taken by his caregiver. I was very specific he can sit the driver seat. He can put his hands on the wheel. Don’t touch the pedals, don’t touch the controls, his caregiver made very sure that he understood sit with your hands here on the steering wheel that’s it but then when some woman came over and wanted to put her toddler in the driver seat, I said no, and she started going off at me something fierce about how I let a (the r word for intellectually disabled) sit in my car, but I won’t let her kid and then she started telling anybody that would listen was with what an asshole I am
