I'm a fucking Argonian and I can't catch vampirism. Please help.

I'm trying to catch vampirism because I want to get my hands on Eltonbrand.

I created a 100% weakness to common disease spell for myself and killed a vampire and am repeatedly casting the spell on myself and interacting with the corpse but I don't seem to get what I want. Am I retarded? Help.
