Odd way of Hoovering

Broke up with ex of five years, roller coaster of a relationship, multiple breakups, blocking - unblocking, silent treatment, gaslighting etc. he wanted to move in together and I knew his toxic tendencies, he finally broke it off no contact for two weeks. Now he’s reappeared as a “friend” still calls twice a day but acts as though we weren’t together for five years. I have no idea what to do I try to avoid the calls at times. I find the complete friend zone just so bizarre though.
