I like people who intellectually stimulate me

Discussion

I've been thinking about my connections with other people. I figured out that the people I felt connected to the most were the ones who intellectually stimulated me. Do other infps feel like this?

The ones who asked me lots of questions, who challenged me intellectually and have sometimes have friendly debates were the ones I felt a deeper, meaningful connection to.

I found this dynamic with an old female ENTP friend, and also with INTJ male friends. As an INFP girl, I have to say INTJ guys were the only one who I felt comfortable talking about everything and anything, we would have deep conversations and asked each other lots of question, and I like when people are really curious about me and ask my opinion and what I think about something. I remember the first question of an old male INTJ friend to me was a philosophy question. I guess because I found this sort of dynamic in INTJ guys I felt drawn to them, but our connections never evolved into more than a friendship. At least on their end, they never expressed feelings of wanting to be more than friends.

One of the things I want in a relationship is that the other person can stimulate me intellectually and viceversa, that naturally creates a deeper bond for me. I think maybe my "ideal" type to be in a relationship with is an INTJ or ENTJ.

I never met an ENTJ guy before but I would like to one day, I imagine our dynamic would be similiar like the ones I had with INTJ, but maybe they would be more direct and open.
