We built the professional network we want to use.

Cybersecurity has Slack groups, Discord servers, WhatsApp chats, Signal groups, Telegram channels, and LobbyCon hallway conversations.

Somehow our professional networking ended up on a platform built for literally everyone. Which feels weird when you think about it. And we're old enough to remember when that platform was reasonably OK.

ABSOLUTELY NOT MENTIONING ANY NAMES. NOPE.

So a bunch of us built Cyberr. Fair warning: we're probably stricter than most platforms, and honestly, we're okay with that.

You can't post or comment until you've verified your identity. We've made that a conscious choice because it makes for a better community when the sock puppets and bots don't get centre stage.

Certs can be validated, not just "displayed".

If you're quietly looking for your next role, you can do that without broadcasting it to your current employer.

There's also a distinct lack of endless ads assuming you've got budget authority and a drawer full of unused POs.

And literally zero posts about how a shelving incident at 4am transformed someone's approach to B2B sales.

Anyway, we're building it, people seem to like it so far, and we'd genuinely love feedback from this community.

Come have a look. If we've got something wrong, tell us. If we're onto something, stick around.

FTR, we're not anti-stapler.
