I was reading Milo Manara's wonderful bande dessinée adaptation of Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose, I was really taken by how thorough and coherent his depiction of the fictional Abbey of the story is. It left me wondering if Manara had used real buildings and locations as reference for his depictions, particularly for the Abbey church, as seen in the attached image.

Any ideas or guesses of a possible real life counterparts or inspirations for the church depicted by Manara? The portal as described in the book (and, as it seems, in Manara's depiction) was inspired by the one in the Moissac Abbey, but I was really curious about the church itself.

Thank you all
