How come many women tell me I haven't seen women without makeup, when I say that I think women look better without makeup?

First of all, of course I have, but every time I say this, at least my female friends, tell me that I haven't, and that it's most likely just "a bit" of makeup, I've got a partner, I know what women without makeup look like, and I prefer it.
