question regarding the process of psychiatric diagnosis

how long does a schizophrenia or schizophrenic spectrum disorder take to diagnose?
undiagnosed individual. the only thing im sure of is my psychotic + negative symptoms. don't know anything else. want to know to brace myself for the possibilities depending on what the psychiatrist sees fit w/ my history of illness.
