Pause roth to pay off loan asap?
basically I need some convincing. for reference, 26 years old single income house with 2 kids and growing. we have a super affordable mortgage at 3.5% (bought as foreclosure with 108k on loan and house is $240k valued) so we arent paying that off asap. but we have a land loan for ag land that is $263 minimum (6.75% int), we pay $500. at $500, we’d have it paid in about 6 years. we have about $55k in our Roth (been doing since I started working at 18).
we fund emergency fund each month and It is hard for me to want to give up roth but we’re considering putting our roth money to the land loan. then our land would be paid off in less than 2 years. we figure that freed up land loan plus our would be roth goes to roth at that point.
Just looking for opinions or encouragement or something to push us over edge to do it. Hard to give up roth investing but also love the fact we could be debt free of the non mortgage loan within 2027. TIA
