How do you guys handle mail-in orders and quotes without losing your mind?
Hey everyone,
Quick question for anyone running a shop who takes orders via mail.
how do you actually manage the whole remote quoting process? Are you just raw-dogging it through Instagram DMs and emails? It feels like half the time is spent chasing people for better photos because the first ones they send are super blurry, and then typing out the same "here is my shipping address and how to pack it" instructions over and over again.
Also, what do you do when the item actually arrives and you realize the damage is way worse than what they showed you in the messages? Do you just eat the cost or call them up and argue about a higher price?
Just trying to figure out how much time you guys waste on this admin crap compared to actual bench time. Let me know how much of your business is mail-in vs local walk-ins too. Cheers!
