Anyone entered a hypnogogic state from the wakeful side to remember old dreams?

Question

After the lucid dreaming state, I often find myself in the hypnogogic state which is like a hallway between the dream world and the real world. While there, I seem to have infinite memory of both the dream world and the real world. I can remember dreams from years ago and real memories from years ago. Thus far, I can only get there when waking up from sleeping and can only hold it for a few minutes before fully waking up.

Has anyone entered the hypnogogic state from normal wakefulness? I find myself much more creative and intelligent in that state because of the infinite access to information. I've felt like I've solved problems in that state that I couldn't solve in normal wakeful state. It would be pretty amazing to be able to induce this state rather than it randomly happen on the back end of sleeping.
