How’s psych 1002A to get a gpa of 4.0?

Are there many essay assignments or writing-based exams?
Are the exams mostly based on memorization, or do they require strong reading and writing skills? English is my second language, so I’m a little worried that my English ability might affect my grades.
Also, do you think PSYC 1003B is easier than PSYC 1002A?
