Hey everyone,

With electricity prices and the general cost of living constantly creeping up this year, I’ve been looking for the best energy provider in Australia to actually cut down the quarterly bill. I recently switched to Powershop and realised you can stack their current promos with a referral to get a **$375 sign-up bonus**.

Since a lot of us are comparing energy plans right now, I thought I’d break down exactly how it works so you can max out the account credits.

**💰 Here is the breakdown of the $375 Bonus:**

* **$75 Immediate Credit:** You get this applied to your very first electricity bill by using a referral link. (Provides instant relief for month one).
* **$200 Electricity Credit:** If you choose the *Switch Saver* electricity plan, this large credit unlocks and applies to your account exactly 180 days after activation.
* **$100 Gas Credit:** If you add the *Power House Gas* plan during sign up, you get another $100 at the 180-day mark.

**⚡ Why Powershop is actually worth keeping:** High sign-up bonuses usually hide terrible daily rates, but their pricing is surprisingly good.

* **Cheaper than the DMO:** Their Power House plan is up to 24% below the government's Default Market Offer, consistently undercutting legacy providers like Origin and AGL.
* **Zero Lock-in Contracts:** No exit fees. If you claim the first $75 and find a better rate a few months later, you have total freedom to leave without penalty.
* **The App & "Powerpacks":** Their app is award-winning. You can buy "Future Packs" to pre-purchase power up to 6 months in advance at a deep discount (great for hedging against winter price hikes).
* **Ultimate EV Energy Plan:** If you own an electric vehicle, their EV Day Plan offers **FREE charging** between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM every single day. If you prefer to charge overnight, the EV Night Plan drops to a super off-peak rate (e.g., 4.99c/kWh).

**📝 How to claim it (Takes 5 mins):**

1. **Turn off any VPNs** before you start to ensure the referral bonus tracks successfully.
2. Use a working Powershop referral link
3. Fill out the quick online form and make sure to select the **Switch Saver** (Electricity) and **Power House Gas** plans to queue your combined $300 180-day credits.
4. Relax. They contact your old retailer and handle the entire transition seamlessly. Your power won't be interrupted.

Hope this quick Powershop review helps anyone looking to soften the blow of their next bill. Let me know if you have any questions about the app or the EV plans!
