Long-lasting contact lens overwear issue with Vision
Has anyone experienced long-lasting symptoms after contact lens overwear?
About 2 months ago, I was diagnosed with contact lens overwear after wearing soft contact lenses for very long hours (around 14 hours per day). I also have keratoconus in both eyes and underwent corneal cross-linking several years ago. However, I recently had a check-up with my cornea specialist, and both the keratoconus and the cross-linking results were found to be stable, with no signs of progression.
The specialist found irritation and damage to the corneal surface and prescribed lubricating eye drops during the day and ointment at night.
The strange thing is that my symptoms are still not fully resolved after almost 2 months. My vision fluctuates a lot from day to day and even between eyes. With my contact lenses, I can generally see much better than with my glasses.
Has anyone experienced a recovery that took this long? What actually helped? Did anything make a noticeable difference?
I already have a follow-up appointment with my cornea specialist scheduled for September, but this is really long to go..
Thanks!
