Echo Sub in 2026

Not a huge fan of Echo ecosystem but it's still, IMO, best value for responsiveness and sound quality, especially if discounted.

Was hoping to pick up a couple echo subs during prime day but it looks like they actually never go on sale, at least in Canada, according to camelcamelcamel.

What's the verdict on the echo sub in 2026? I'm hoping it will add a bit more oomph to rooms where I want superior sound quality. Namely, my bedroom, where I have two paired echo spots, and the living room, where I plan to put in an echo dot max (not paired as there's no 'natural listening position'). The sub is now 8 years old, is it a decent option in 2026? The alternative is going with something like Sonos or Denon Heos, and both those options are more $$$ and / or more complex to set up and use.
