How to buy my type of electric car
I've long settled into a fairly well trodden route of buying 3yo ex company cars from places like Black Horse Finance. I have not regretted it once and saved soooo much money and had reasonable cars I've little interest in for 20 years, as long as I can put a washing machine in the back.
My son has recently joined the driving world and after 3 increasingly expensive failed petrol cars, he's going for a new lease on something electric. I can't get behind the idea of leasing though. I'm used to paying cash and drawing a line not basically renting something for the same cost as a finite loan repayment.
But how does this now fit into EV land? I certainly feel that my next vehicle, when my 66 plate S-Max dies will be electric but I don't have confidence that my long term strategy makes sense still...?
