Italy pavilion pizza restaurant complaint

Food, Drinks, & Dining

Just wanted to share an interaction I had during my visit this past weekend.

Just got back from Disney and had a great time except for this interaction we had during the fireworks in Epcot. I have 3 small children (one being 5 months old), and it was late and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat for them so we headed to the Italy pavilion in world showcase right before the fireworks. We stopped at the quick pizza window in the back and started eating our pizza slices on the patio. When the fireworks started, the sound was too loud for our 3 year old and my wife was concerned about our 5 month old. (we forgot to bring headphones for her). At this point my wife proceeded to enter the restaurant right next to the Pizza window with 2 of our 3 kids so that they could eat and not be subjected to the loud bangs. After a few minutes a castmember, I believe he was the manager approached my wife and demanded she leave because she was not allowed to eat outside food in the restaurant. I informed the cast member by the name of "Ted" that we had purchased the pizza slices at their take out window and he kept insisting we leave. We were all polite and just told him that we came in because we didn't want to expose our 5 month old to the noise. He did not care and continued to tell us we needed to leave. We then kindly apologized and told him to have a good night as he walked us out.

I've been going to Disney for over 40 years and have never had such a terrible interaction with a cast member. I understand that perhaps they did not want to have to clean the area we were in but he could've approached us a different way.
