Nightreign / Steam - how do save files work?

I have 1000 hours in Nightreign on ps5 and decided it’s time to try some modded versions on PC. For now, I want to play around with Elden Vins and the More Map Variations mods.

How do save files work? Will I technically have 3 different save files, one for vanilla NR opened through Steam, one for Elden Vins and one for More Map Variations?

Is there any overlap between the save files? Ie is there any risk that playing the modded versions will impact my vanilla save and get me banned?

What happens if you get banned? Can you just delete the save file and start over?
