To restart or not restart.

I’m getting back into it after literal years of not playing. I just bought the ultimate edition and a rift in time. I don’t want to lose any of the clothes/things I bought previously but I’m tempted to restart. Has anyone restarted and regretted it or really been happy with the decision? I’m just curious to see everyone’s thoughts.
