The Kiss still has some of the best writing from the early seasons (2x2)

I was just rewatching season 2 and forgot how good this entire episode is. The whole back-and-forth with Mitchell avoiding public displays of affection while Cameron is keeping score is hilarious.

When Jay is trying to stay out of it and says, "I'm not picking sides here, but if I was, I'd pick the side that doesn't make me look at two guys kissing," it perfectly sums up early Modern Family's style of comedy. It manages to be funny and address the character dynamics without feeling forced.

Anyone else feel like the early seasons had the best pacing and character beats?
