What should a young woman say to landlords who ask about their family members, request their phone numbers, or want to speak with them before renting out a room, especially if that woman is estranged from her family?

General

I don't have good relationship with my family members and that's why I'm taking a rent room. Now, I've found an affordable room of 1bhk but the problem is that the landlord wants to talk to my family members and even take my parent's phone number before renting out the room. I wanted to take that rent room cuz their tenants described those rent rooms to be very safe. I've found many safe and good rent houses in the city but the problem is that they're asking me about my family members, want their phone numbers and in worst cases, they even wanna talk to them. I don't wanna tell them that I'm don't have a good relationship with my family cuz it will make them suspicious about me and they won't agree to rent out their room to me as I've seen many owners doing that. There were some rent owners who weren't asking about family members that much but those rooms weren't that good or safe and those landlords were creepy so I don't wanna live there.

The city where I live have many young men and women, who are being arrested for illegal pr0stitution. Actually, in many of these cases it was the case of consensual s3x inside homestays, Airbnb, hotels, etc which the neighbours didn't like and that's why they're making false accusations of illegal pr0stitution on these people. That's why many rent owners are getting very cautious these days that outsiders are polluting and destroying their city and making their city a red light area.
