Hello, our names are Derek Gutierrez, Louie Rivera, Cindy Rodriguez, and Gisell Solis. We are Doctor of Occupational Therapy students at the University of Texas at El Paso. We are currently completing a research study inviting English as a Second Language students to complete a survey about their experiences in their University Health Sciences programs. For the purpose of this study, ESL students are determined to be students who self-identify and disclose their native/first language is not English. The goal of the survey is to gain an understanding of the supports and barriers faced by ESL students in their university health sciences programs. Student's who are (1) over the age of 18, (2) whose native/first language spoken is not English, and (3) are currently pursuing a health sciences degree are invited to participate in a 10-20 minute survey at your preferred time, place, and electronic device. The questions will range from open ended, drop down menu, multiple choice, demographic, and 1-10 scale. All related to ESL students' experiences in health sciences programs. Your participation is completely voluntary. You don't have to take part if you don’t want to, you can stop at any time or skip questions if you need to. If you are interested more details can be shared and any additional questions can be answered. If interested: Thank you we will provide more information related to the study, the consent process, and discuss how to access the survey If not interested: Thank you for your time. We appreciate your consideration.
