the Hop's average moving speed is ~5.4 mph

compared to ~3mph for walking, 12mph cycling on city streets, and ~9mph for a city bus running downtown.

Even other streetcars outperform ours, the KC streetcar averages about 11-13 mph

the curvy route of the hop will likely cap its speeds unless realigned, but removing some of the stops could also help get it a little faster. a faster hop would be a more viable starter for a larger tram network
