Twas the night before score release, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. LSAC was bookmarked and checked with great care,
In hopes that an LSAT score soon would be there.

The applicants nestled all snug in their beds,
While percentile rankings danced in their heads.
And I in my hoodie, phone charging nearby,
Had just settled down for a long sleepless try.

When out on my screen there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the portal I flew like a flash,
Typed in my password and prayed it wouldn’t crash.

The glow of the laptop on dark bedroom walls
Gave visions of T14 acceptance calls.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a scrolling discussion of panic and fear.

With posters so anxious and comments so droll,
I knew in a moment it must be Reddit’s toll.
More rapid than eagles the question types came,
And I muttered and cursed as I called them by name:

“Now Flaw! now, Weaken! now, Strengthen and Role!
On, Parallel! on, Necessary! on Reading Comp’s toll!
To the top of the curve! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”

As leaves before wild hurricane winds fly,
So my score predictions kept climbing sky-high.
A 170? A 165?
By midnight I’d convinced myself I’d somehow scored five.

And then, in a moment, the doubt started creeping,
Of questions I changed instead of just keeping.
The chickadees danced through the halls of my brain,
Along with strange arguments I couldn’t explain.

I thought of each answer, each bubble, each guess,
Each question I’d flagged in a moment of stress.
I replayed each section from ending to start,
With Logic gone but anxiety still part.

The night slowly faded; the morning drew near.
The refresh button suffered a terrible year.
Then just before sunrise, I heard a faint call—

“Your score is your score. You’ve already done all.”

So I shut down the laptop and crawled back to bed,
Trying to silence the noise in my head.
But I heard a voice whisper, as dawn came in sight:

“Happy score release to all, and to all a good night!”
