The hate both the Amazing Digital Circus and Gooseworx got these last few months from some online critics is so undeserved. It's a 9-episode show that could have been \~13 episodes, but it's still so god damn good.

It is mainly a story-focused show, but it is a very good character study of random people being trapped and forced to connect with each other, with enough foreshadowing for plots, and it's clear that the end points of the series had always been planned. It's a very tightly written little show that gives you room to interpret characters deeper by writing fanfictions and throwing your headcanons into them.

Can I say this whole "Jax took all the spotlight" drama was absolute bs? If anything, it's Kinger who's the center of the plot. While Jax is clearly the most complex and the last episode should have given us more details about their past, they still also get a role in all other episodes, despite being one-note. Honestly, it's one of the few shows where I can say the entire cast on main characters are truly main characters.

My main issues, besides not getting more details about the other characters' lives before the circus, are Caine's illogical redemption (I understand Jax not getting redeemed, I just think Caine was worse) and how no one seems to blame Kinger for how his company is the reason all this mess exists to begin with (like, is the brain scan technology still there? Grant Best must figure that out asap and make a copy of the circus in case the company deletes it).

And of course, we all have to point to how *beautiful* everything looks. No wonder it got so popular, besides how the first episode was such a great introduction.

I binged the entire show today and these are my quick notes.
