Backstory for a wood elf artificer

I have this idea for a wood elf artificer, who was once part of a druid grove but betrayed them during a war long ago, in which he made a series of warforged for the promise of ahigh pay and the good life. In present day, centuries after it ended, the people he worked for lost their war and he was left with nothing. He hears one of the warforged from that war was reactivated, and knowing it's his creation, he feels he has a chance at redemption by going to deactivate or destory it once and for all. He'll be in for quite a surprise when he finds out this warforged has become a druid itself.
