wait so this makes me think about another theory; (SPOILERS FOR THE ANSWER TO THE SMILE ARG)

ok so we know the lake is when “she first smiled”, but what do we do with this? Well first, the goner maker background is heavily resembling of an ocean (it is just an edited photo or Video of some waves). Now to understand where I go to next, you need to believe Dess has drowned. Feel free to look up the theory, but beyond hearing it once or twice I haven’t checked up on it too incredibly much because I believed it to be invalid. Anyway, so if you think Dess is at the bottom of the lake, drowned, think about another smaller theory; that we are not the first group of the prophecy. The prophecy keeps replaying with different heroes. What if dess was an original hero. What if like the undertale title select page, we, in the goner maker screen, are choosing the original (or most recent) human. That human being Dess. For this you also have to believe Dess is a human, like Kris to the dreemurr family. I know that this is a lot of smaller theories, none of which are my own design, but I just really think there’s a good chance that our goner maker screen is us choosing what DESS looks like. (also, we never learn why Kris stopped wearing horns but we do learn Kris is heavily inspired by Dess, like Kris looked up to Dess.) let me know your thoughts, and if I’m over (or under)thinking this. if I’m right, the vessel will be used.
