Hi, everyone,

I'm an urban planing student and long-time fan of Dwarf Fortress. Over the years I've experimented with various urban plans for forts using quickfort and I have made one that I'm quite proud of.

The urban plan is modular, with fresh water (provided by a well) and sewer lines to each 13x17 city block. The water for each block can be shut off and drained independently (for when an inconsiderate child or cat decides to fall in and drown during a goblin siege). As a fail safe, each block also has an overflow release pipe for when your cistern has too much water pressure.

Each block is 4 stories high, consisting of a ground floor with workshops, guildhalls, temples, etc., and 3 upper floors with apartments. Each workshop has 3 floors of storage space underneath it, and each apartment has 2 bedrooms and a living room.

The primary east-west road (decumanus maximum) intersects the primary north-south main road (cardo maximus) on the east side of the city, with a large temple complex on the east side of this intersection. In this example, the temple complex is dedicated to the most popular god: a Dwarf god of lakes. As such, the temple has been sunk into the ground and surrounded with an artificial lake.

I have a quickfort blueprint for this urban plan (with an improved water system requiring less floodgates/mechanisms) I also have blueprints for designating and constructing the apartments. I do, however, need to make blueprints for the workshops and temples, since designating the stockpiles can be a pain. I would also like to include minecart hauling route designations in the workshop blueprints but haven't decided the best way to do that yet.

Anyway - Let me know what you all think!
