A possible solution to how season 8 ended

Spoiler

This post might annoy some people and if it does I apologise. I had an idea, probably not an original one at all and wanted to post it and see your thoughts on it. Disclaimer I had AI help me write it down based on a promt of a storyline.

The Setup: The Prophetic Nightmare
The series opens with the chaotic, rushed imagery of the Season 8 finale—the ash falling on a destroyed King's Landing. Suddenly, Jon Snow wakes up in a cold sweat. It was a terrifying, prophetic greensight nightmare of the worst possible timeline.
In reality, the war ended with political compromise: Cersei surrendered, the Lannisters bent the knee, and a fragile, deeply tense peace was struck.

The Time Jump: The Fire Burns Slowly
The story fast-forwards several years. Jon and Daenerys are ruling the realm together, and they now have two young, silver-haired Targaryen children. On the surface, the realm is at peace, but underneath, a psychological thriller is ticking away.
Instead of an overnight villain turn, we watch Daenerys suffer a realistic, slow-burn descent into paranoia:
The Unpunished Enemy: The Lannisters were allowed to retreat to Casterly Rock, but their survival haunts Dany.
The Visions: She begins having vivid, terrifying visions of her father (the Mad King) and her murdered family, convincing her that a Lannister coup is imminent.
The Mother's Fear: Her paranoia is driven entirely by a desperate, fierce need to protect her two children from the political vipers of Westeros.

The Climax: The Ruin of Casterly Rock
Driven to the edge by her visions, Daenerys snaps. She flies her dragons to Casterly Rock—the ultimate ancestral stronghold of House Lannister—and completely obliterates it. She burns the castle to ash, trapping Cersei and the remaining Lannisters inside, executing her enemies in a terrifying display of dragon fire.
Jon is forced into an impossible, heartbreaking choice. To save the realm and protect his family from its own mother's volatile instability, Jon executes Daenerys. He reluctantly takes the Iron Throne himself as King Aegon VI to hold the fractured continent together.

After this HBO could explore maybe a 100 year time jump with more creative storylines, maybe involving dragons. I’m also curious to how people wanted the series to end and the world of Westeros to look like.
