Coming back since The Final Shape, is there a text I can read to understand all the gear changes, what to focus on etc?

Ironically I've heard from multiple people the game is actually in a great spot to be _coming back to it_ despite it's future, and nothing scratches the Destiny 2 itch the same way, so as I'm downloading; I've heard alot of gear/progression changes happened, is there some place I can read to catch up on?
