What common premade storylines do you play in a different way?

There are things that many players do while playing premade Sims, like Pascal helping Nervous escape from the Beakers, Don having a lot of kids with different women, or Cassandra getting with Darren. What are some stories you prefer to avoid and what do you do instead?
