The Carnival/Circus

Theory to build on

I will preface this with saying I love the show Carnivale and am interested in the story of carnies generally, like the mostly evil P.T. Barnum and a lot of other fun characters. But anyway:

Looking at William Afton as a dude, his personality falls well in line with these kind of characters, as a showman, businessman, and general huckster/con-man (look at what he did to MCM). As a showman, he lacked many original ideas, so he had to poach from others.

Fall Fest therefore likely was his lifelong grift, and he probably met Henry through this, possibly contracting with him for certain attractions (Or Henry worked with him THROUGH MCM).

This also helps to explain Fredbear's singing show. William didn't see it once when he was five and wanted to steal the idea, it was just a normal attraction at the carnival he worked at and the attraction evolved with time, probably in response to whatever the Disney stand-in in this world was up to

This also kind of helps with explaining William and his family's accents. When exactly William came to America isn't too important, but either his family brought him over and he grew up in the carnival, or he brought his existing family to America, and where did social outcasts, debtors or others looking to reinvent themselves end up in Depression-era? The carnival.

This is my first time posting so I wanted to start with kind of a softball, mostly relating a personality to a lifelong occupation
