What to expect with being with a muslim man?

I (f18) met a guy (m17) at uni. We started texting late march and went on our first date in early april. he’s from abu dhabi and is an international student. We’ve been physical together and would hang out a lot and he would sleep over sometimes when he could. He’s told his mom about me ( and presumably his dad ) but his friends don’t really know about me. Right before we left for summer break, he even told me he loves me. We’ve been long distance since he’s back in the UAE. it’s been hard and we definitely had some times where our communication wasn’t the best. It was difficult considering him and I don’t have an official label. He hasn’t asked me to be his girlfriend or anything. And recently he’s brought up a trip abroad so him and i can see each other this summer. I was asking one of my friends who has family in the UAE and she told me that emirati don’t really do the boyfriend label. I was just confused because his parents know about me. So how serious is he about me?
