Relationship between gods

So in Toll the Hounds, Traveller/Daseem Ultor/Dessembrae walks up to Anomander Rake and asks where Hood is. He is obviously angered and wants to kill Hood (revealed in chapter prior), but Anomander already trapped him in Dragnipur. Daseem gets mad and traps Anomander in Dragnipur as well.

Some thousands of pages later, I am currently on chapter 8 of The Crippled God - the passage where Silchas Ruin comes to Coltaine's Eternal Fall and finds Dessembrae, Shadowthrone, Beru, Jhess and some other gods. He's looking for a weapon for Rud Elalle. In that section, Beru says to Silchas:

'Your brother slew our strongest ally*.'*

I assume Beru meant Rake slaying Hood. If so, how is Hood an ally to Dessembrae? Didn't Daseem want to kill Hood in Toll the Hounds as I wrote above?
