Is this doable by a novice?

Brick

I have a 20 foot low (9") retaining wall in my front yard. It was made with Home Depot blocks that you stack on top of each other. The cap was put on with Loctite adhesive. I want to change this to a used brick look, but am sure I can't make a free standing wall myself. Can I pop off the top cap and use thin brick veneer on the wall, then top with a full used brick for the cap? The face is pretty bumpy, but I am a careful worker if pointed to the correct adhesive. It will only take about three rows of brick. Thoughts?
