Avi Loeb, a Harvard astrophysicist, says the newly released UFO files form a “detective story” that could be solved with better data as the administration pushes transparency around unexplained aerial phenomena, noting three batches with about 40% of incidents lacking a reasonable explanation, urging scientists to interpret existing data or advise on gathering new data to resolve the nature of UAPs, stressing that all data shared with the UFO governance council will be unclassified, and highlighting his role advising the governance structure alongside his provocative suggestion that some interstellar objects could be alien technology, while pointing to cases such as Northeast orb sightings, a 2023 glowing lava-like orb with red lights, a 2022 Colorado Springs potato-shaped cloaked object, and a 2008 Zimbabwe Harare airport disc, and outlining key questions about verifying objects with multiple sensors across wavelengths, estimating distance and velocity, and determining whether any are beyond human-made technology, all amid missing data from classified sensors and the challenge of communicating findings to the public without causing unrest or market instability.
