Tips to choose/develop a stock shot?
Hello everyone,
For some context, I shoot pretty consistently in the mid to high 80’s. I think the 4 core aspects of my game are pretty balanced and that the #1 thing holding me back from better scores is poor course management.
One thing I really want to be confident in my game is to have stock shot with my irons/woods and driver. Social media is really confusing at the moment, I swear last year the craze was shallow draws and now everyone is raving about steep pull cuts. Yet all the OG’s just tell me to hit is straight.
When I’m playing my best golf, I think I like having draw tendencies with my irons and woods and a fade with the driver. However, my biggest miss is always a pull shot, so I’ve kinda psyched myself out.
1: Is it better to try and set up my swing so I have a single miss? Or should I quit being a headcase and hit the ball straight?
2: Should I try and match my driver shot shape to my irons? Or would it be good to leave it as it is?
3: Does anyone have any general tips about how to develop a good stock shot?
Thanks in advance!
