Hey everyone,

Like a lot of you, I wanted floating desktop sticky notes that just *lived* right inside my Markdown vault. Not synced to it, not exported to it—just saved in it as plain, local `.md` files the exact moment the note is closed.

So I built **HDStickies**. It is built for Obsidian users, by an Obsidian user—but Obsidian is completely optional! It will seamlessly save your notes to any local directory of your choice.

🌟 Core Features

* **Floating Notes:** Lightweight windows that stay pinned on top of your workspace.
* **Liquid Glass Theme:** Optimized for macOS with a stunning translucent glass toggle option in Settings.
* **Seamless Vault Integration:** Saves notes directly into your vault folder with zero background sync required.
* **Full YAML Frontmatter:** Auto-generates frontmatter including `Date`, custom `Color`, and `Tags: HDStickies`.
* **Rich Markdown Support:** Handles headers, bold/italic text, code blocks, checklists, and callouts.
* **All-Notes Editor:** Features a dedicated desktop sidebar + editor to browse and read your active folder.
* **Global Hotkey Search:** Instantly search across all of your stickies from anywhere on your Mac.
* **Flexible Exports:** Bundle your notes as a ZIP file, a standalone folder, or an Obsidian index complete with `[[wiki links]]`.

🛠️ Free, Open-Source & Native

The app is built natively in Swift/SwiftUI with zero tracking. It operates entirely locally; Obsidian does not even need to be running for it to work.

*(You can download the compiled app straight from the Github Releases tab, or clone it and run it directly inside Xcode).*

📋 Requirements

* **OS:** macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later.
* **Visual Preview:** Check out the Liquid Glass Interface Screenshot.

I would love to get your feedback, hear feature requests, or help with any bugs you find!
