(HELP) Forza Horizon 5 & FH6 silently terminate after 3-4 minutes. No crash logs, no Event Viewer errors, Windows appears healthy. Deep investigation summary inside.

System:

- Lenovo LOQ

- Windows 11

- NVIDIA ETX 3050 6GB

- Nahimic Audio installed by OEM

- Windhawk installed for UI customization

Affected Games:

- Forza Horizon 5 (DODi)

- Forza Horizon 6 (SteamRip)

both updated to latest available repack

Issue:

Both games silently close after a few minutes.

No:

- Error popup

- Crash dialog

- BSOD

- Freeze

- "Not Responding"

The process simply disappears from Task Manager.

------------------------------------------------------------

TIMELINE

------------------------------------------------------------

Everything worked perfectly before I configured the "Enable Invites" / Online-Fix setup.

Immediately afterward:

- FH5 started randomly terminating

- FH6 started randomly terminating

This occurred in both online and offline modes.

------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS

------------------------------------------------------------

FH5:

- Sometimes exits during "Optimizing for PC"

- Sometimes exits in menus

- Sometimes exits after a few minutes

FH6:

- Sometimes exits in menus

- Sometimes exits during gameplay

- No error messages

------------------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT DISCOVERY

------------------------------------------------------------

At first I thought the crash was tied to the Ford pickup snow tutorial.

I tested this.

Test #1:

Stayed idle on the start screen.

Result:

3 minutes 11 seconds

-> Process disappeared

Test #2:

Started gameplay and drove normally.

Result:

4 minutes 09 seconds

-> Process disappeared

Conclusion:

The issue is NOT tied to:

- Ford pickup

- Snow map

- Specific asset

- Story progression

- Particular location

The termination appears runtime-dependent.

------------------------------------------------------------

WINDOWS INVESTIGATION

------------------------------------------------------------

DISM:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Result:

Completed successfully.

Conclusion:

Windows component store appears healthy.

------------------------------------------------------------

EVENT VIEWER

------------------------------------------------------------

Checked:

Windows Logs -> Application

Filtered:

- Event ID 1000

- Event ID 1001

Result:

No new crash entries.

No APPCRASH.

No WER crash reports.

------------------------------------------------------------

RELIABILITY MONITOR

------------------------------------------------------------

Checked:

perfmon /rel

Result:

No application failures recorded.

No entries corresponding to the termination.

------------------------------------------------------------

TASK MANAGER OBSERVATION

------------------------------------------------------------

Observed process during failure.

Behavior:

Running

-> Instant disappearance

NOT:

Running

-> Not Responding

-> Crash

This appears to be a clean process termination rather than a conventional crash.

------------------------------------------------------------

OTHER GAMES TESTED

------------------------------------------------------------

All of these run normally:

- Assassin's Creed Unity

- The Finals

- NFS Unbound

- NFS Heat

- NFS 2015

No instability observed.

This makes me doubt:

- GPU failure

- Driver corruption

- DirectX corruption

- General Windows instability

------------------------------------------------------------

ENABLE_INVITES.BAT ANALYSIS

------------------------------------------------------------

I inspected the BAT file.

It only:

- Registered ForzaHorizon5ProtocolSelect

- Registered ForzaHorizon6ProtocolSelect

- Added Xbox Live protocol mappings

It did NOT:

- Install services

- Create scheduled tasks

- Modify drivers

- Patch DirectX

- Install kernel components

I removed:

HKCU\Software\Classes\ForzaHorizon5ProtocolSelect

and

HKCU\Software\Classes\ForzaHorizon6ProtocolSelect

Rebooted.

Result:

No change.

Games still terminate.

------------------------------------------------------------

RADAR EVENTS

------------------------------------------------------------

I found:

RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64

P1: forzahorizon6.exe

Later I also found:

RADAR_PRE_LEAK_64

P1: TiWorker.exe

Because unrelated processes are generating the same warning, I'm not convinced this is the root cause.

No actual APPCRASH events exist.

------------------------------------------------------------

PROCESS MONITOR

------------------------------------------------------------

Captured ProcMon trace during runtime.

The final visible operations are normal registry and WINTRUST.DLL related lookups.

No obvious ACCESS DENIED.

No obvious crash event.

No clear terminating exception.

The process still disappears cleanly.

------------------------------------------------------------

CURRENT THEORY

------------------------------------------------------------

What I believe has been ruled out:

- Windows corruption

- NVIDIA driver issues

- DirectX issues

- GPU instability

- RAM instability

- Story/tutorial-specific crash

- Registry entries created by Enable Invites

What remains:

- Something introduced alongside the Online-Fix setup

- Loader/helper executables

- Runtime validation/watchdog behavior

- Some other process interacting with the modified game environment

------------------------------------------------------------

QUESTION

------------------------------------------------------------

Has anyone seen Forza Horizon 5 or FH6 terminate cleanly after ~3-4 minutes with:

- No Event Viewer crash

- No Reliability Monitor entry

- Process simply disappearing

- Other games working perfectly

If so, what ultimately caused it?

Looking for advanced debugging ideas rather than standard fixes (drivers, reinstall, update Windows, etc.), as those have already been investigated extensively.

P.S. I have been playing FH5 for over a year and just recently used the enable invites bat file.
