Should I delete my level 80 Elementalist to create Mesmer?

About 2 weeks ago I bought EDS, yesterday I bought SoTo and tomorrow with Steam sale I will buy VoE. I think that's all the money I can spend on this game for the next few months.

I don't have gems to buy character slots but I really want to try playing Mesmer. Elementalist is my least played character. Should I delete it to create Mesmer or wait few months until I can buy gems?

As a side note, after the initial excitement I'm really feeling nickle and dimed by this game. Want to make another character? Open your wallet. Want to make 3rd equipment set? Open your wallet. Want to have additional bag slot? Open your wallet. Want material storage to store more than measly 250 items? Open your wallet. Want to have an additional bank slot? Open your wallet.

Look, I understand the game needs to be monetised. However, it feels the game intentionally bombards you with useless crap to force more bag slots, bank slots etc. I feel Path of Exile 1/2 has done much better job of monetisation.
