Hello, another school list post. I intend to apply all MD/PhD, but I would appreciate any advice in general. Also wondering whether it's a dumb idea to just basically apply to the top 30 schools. Sorry in advance.

stats:

3.98/524

t100whatever

TX resident, ORM (although ik TX residency is moot for mdphd)

chem/bio/phil majors, 3 gap yrs

5000 current research + 2000 projected (1 third author, 1 presentation, many manuscripts in progress but this lowk doesn't mean anything. Kind of concerned wrt output, but I am confident about my skills and knowledge)

750 paid clinical, scribe

300 non-clinical volunteering (nursing home, etc)

\~100 TA

0 leadership (I can twist teaching probably, but I am concerned about this)

some interesting philosophy ECs/undergrad pubs

I don't think I'm particularly unique or charismatic. Also concerned about low leadership and research productivity. Writing should be average. High stats but I'm not sure if my ECs are up to par. Would like to gauge whether those with similar profiles got away with just applying to t30s. Would appreciate any mdphd-specific advice if possible. I want to balance optimism with enthusiasm for the program with not having to write more than 30 secondaries. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions to cut or add or of whether I am indeed delusional or misguided. Thank you very much.
