Hi guys!
The idea is a 2D web game where your real guitar is the controller. The browser listens through your microphone, and what you play affects the game.

So instead of clicking a button to cast a spell, you actually play a chord or a short progression. Cleaner playing = stronger spell. Good chord switch = combo. A difficult section could become a boss fight.

The bigger idea is to make beginner guitar practice feel less like homework. A lot of beginners get stuck repeating chords and transitions, and it gets boring fast. We want to turn that practice into something more like a game loop.

The story concept is that the world has lost music because of a villain, and you bring it back by playing guitar.

We originally thought about mapping random chords to attacks/spells, but after talking to a couple of beginners, we realized that could sound pretty bad musically. So now we’re leaning more toward:

* short chord progressions
* song-like patterns
* chord transitions
* small level sections
* boss fights for harder parts

We’re not trying to replace teachers or apps like Yousician/Rocksmith. More like a fun practice layer for beginners.

The biggest technical risk is audio recognition. Microphone input can be messy, especially with background noise, speech, different guitars, and bad timing. So the first version would be small: probably a free web demo with a few beginner chords/progressions.

I’m curious if this sounds useful to actual guitar people. Would this make practice more motivating, or would it distract from learning the instrument?

I created BTC. Would a game controlled by a real guitar make practice less boring, or is this just a gimmick?
