Deployable Stash Item
There is a lot of talk about having some equivalent of a secret pocket upgrade in the game: the ability to safeguard one or two items and still get them even if you fail to exfil. People have suggested using the D-Cons but that has the issue of dcons becoming player funnels for ambushes that functio ally just makes them useless.
What would people think about a stash or cache as a deployable item?
With a stack size of one, a few different rarities going up in size from a 2x2 green up to a 4x4 purple inventory space, you place it down on the map like an ammo crate and open it like any other lootable chest. Anything that is inside it when the match ends will be sent to your vault even if you dont exfil. The catch? If someone else finds the stash, then they can loot it and you get nothing. So you have to find a place to hide it that is either untravelled or hard to reach.
It means anything you put in it is at risk; you're not there to defend it, but you also arent risking it the same way you risk yourself by exploring and fighting.
I think from a design philosophy its very interesting, because it is an item that cannot have a meta; there cannot be a universally accepted place to hide it because that will defeat its purpose. It rewards map knowledge, traversal and encourages people going into otherwise empty and unused regions of the maps.
