My NVME Ssd is cooked
Hello,
Yesterday, I was gaming on my PC until around 8:00 PM. Everything was working perfectly. I left for a while, came back later, shut down the PC normally, and went about my evening.
The next time I powered it on, it got stuck on the motherboard boot screen. No matter how many times I restarted it, it would never get past that screen.
After doing some research, I found that SSD issues can sometimes cause this behavior. In the BIOS, I could still see my Gigabyte SSD listed in the storage information, but there was no boot device available to select.
I then ran the SSD self-test from the BIOS, and it failed.
To rule out a motherboard or Windows issue, I removed the SSD and connected it to my work laptop. However, the drive wouldn't initialize there either and wasn't accessible.
Does this sound like a dead SSD, or is there anything else I should try before declaring it failed?
